Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this process damage my teeth?
A: No, as long as you do not overdue the treatments. Like
most things, excess is not good.
Q: Is this the same treatment as my dentist provides for
$400-$600?
A: Yes. The only difference is your dentist may use a higher
concentration of peroxide gel, which has been known to cause
increased tooth sensitivity and pain during and after treatment.
Q: How does this compare to over the counter treatments
available at my pharmacy?
A: Our gels are significantly more concentrated than any over
the counter product. We also use an accelerator light that
activates the gel applied to your teeth. The combination of
the two will give the customer whitening results that will
normally take over a week of daily application of over the
counter products.
Q: How white will your treatment get my teeth?
A: The whitening results are purely subjective. Each person
has a different result based upon numerous factors, including
but not limited to heritage, fluoride levels in water growing
up, childhood illness and medications, level of staining,
enamel, etc. In no case will we be able to whiten your teeth
more than your baseline color. There is no guarantee that
you will have a specific whitening result.
Q: How long will the whitening results last?
A: Again, this is purely subjective. Normally most clients
get a year out of the treatment, but it is safe to come back
in for a repeat treatment after 3-6 months.
Q: How long does the treatment take?
A: Our treatments are 20 minutes long per application. Although
some people have excellent results after one treatment, many
people require two or more, which are done during the same
session.
Q: What kind of gel do you use? Is this Zoom?
A: Our treatment is administered using a hydrogen peroxide
gel with a 16% concentration. If your teeth are very sensitive,
we can utilize a carbamide peroxide gel instead which has
been found to cause less sensitivity to susceptible clients.
Q: Why don't you use a tray system when administering
the treatment like other providers do?
A: The tray systems work excellent if you have straight teeth
and the correct amount of gel is applied. We use a system
where the gel is applied directly to your teeth with a special
brush system. Our experience shows that we can ensure a more
uniform coverage to our clients while avoiding contact with
gums and lips.
Q: I have a bridge, veneers, and caps. Is your treatment
safe for them? Will it whiten them?
A: Yes, our treatment is safe on all dental work. It will
remove stains from your dental work, but it will not whiten
the caps, crowns, etc. any more than the original manufactured
color.
Q: Will I feel discomfort or pain during the procedure?
A: Pain or discomfort is highly unusual with our process.
If you have very sensitive teeth, please let your treatment
provider know in advance so that we can use a different gel
to minimize any discomfort.
Q: I am pregnant. Is this process safe to do?
A: Although there is no research showing issues with pregnant
clients, it is not recommended to have this done.
